This photography initiative aims to celebrate the vibrant and diverse individuals who reside and contribute to the communities encompassing the Four Corners of George Floyd Square.
Community members who live and work in the Bryant, Bancroft, Powderhorn and Central neighborhoods are invited to be photographed, and have their portraits shared at a community building event at George Floyd Square.
Situated at the convergence of 38th & Chicago in Minneapolis, this square serves as the meeting point for the Powderhorn, Bryant, Bancroft, and Central neighborhoods, as well as the site where George Floyd was murdered by Minneapolis police in 2020. In the aftermath of this profound event, the portrayal of those within George Floyd Square has often been one of anguish and turmoil in the media.
In direct defiance of this narrative, my project endeavors to spotlight the resilience, beauty, and cultural richness that flourishes within the Four Corners of George Floyd Square, fostering unity and solidarity among its communities.
I would be deeply honored to capture your portrait and share your unique story.
